Working Together
I collaborate with universities, cultural organisations, educators, businesses, and community groups to design and deliver meaningful, research-informed projects and events that centre lived experience, heritage, and storytelling.
As an experienced oral historian, I have designed and delivered numerous oral history projects, capturing personal narratives and community memories to inform research, exhibitions, and public engagement.
Drawing on humanities research methods, community co-production, and inclusive practices, I create engaging opportunities for learning, dialogue, and public engagement across diverse settings. I have experience delivering keynote talks and corporate sessions, training and workshops, exhibitions, collaborative research projects, and cultural and historical consultancy for media and television productions.
Talks, Training & Workshops
I offer talks, training sessions, and workshops tailored to corporate, educational, and public audiences, online and in person. These sessions invite participants to explore themes such as heritage, identity, migration, storytelling, and inclusive histories.
Examples:
-
Media interviews on the South Asian diaspora, history and culture. For example, a television interview with Michael Portilloon, for Great British Railway Journeys (BBC)
-
Advisory work on representation and storytelling. For example, I am currently a member of the Inclusion and Diversity West Panel for ITV Anglia
-
British history talks delivered during South Asian Heritage Month. Previous clients include law firms Appleyard Lees and Walker Morris
-
Interactive workshops and training for staff or students on a range of topics. Previous clients include heritage site Temple Newsam House and King’s College London

Engagement & Impact Support for Universities
I collaborate with universities across a wide range of academic fields to embed inclusive, narrative-driven humanities approaches into research, teaching, and public engagement. Drawing on oral history, participatory practice, and evidence-based engagement strategies, I support researchers and students to communicate their work in ways that are meaningful, ethical, and rooted in real-world impact.
This work can support:
- Research impact and REF pathways through community-centred engagement
- Public engagement with research across disciplines
- EDI-focused initiatives that foreground underrepresented voices
- Student experience and skills development, including storytelling, interviewing, and outreach
- Collaborations with external partners, community groups, or policy audiences
- Interdisciplinary projects seeking to incorporate qualitative, narrative, or culturally-informed methods
